Pustule, Papule, Nodule, Cyst, Closed v. Open Comodone...What is on your FACE???

We all suffer from some type of "blemish" once in our lives, and sometimes they cannot be fun. Some are smal and some are big, but what is the real name for this so called blemish that has esthetically put a frown on my social life? Well below in the diagram below is a brief view of what you may be looking at. Lets start with "papule" a small hard raised tissue with no visible fluid. Pustules are like papules however they produce yellow heads which are the superficial heads of the trapped exudate or pus within the pores alot of time associated with oily stressed skin or acne. Nodules and cysts are like papules that embed themselves into the skin causing more inflamation and irritation and are harder to remove and may require a medical professionals attention. Black heads don't you just love them especially the ones that form around your nose? Well they are excess sebum (oil), dead skin cells, and bacteria that have basically solidified inside the pore creating an appearance of a black head. Mean while a white head is when the trapped debris becomes incased in the skin so a small white ball not black appears as it sits on top the skins surface.

Sometimes stress, oil build up, dead skin, hormones, irritations, skin conditions, etc can all attribute to those hideous erruptions we see every once and a while. With a proper skin care regiment and at home care you can help reduce the appearnce and alleviate those pesky blemishes. So incorpoarting good skin car eproducts and regular maintenance facials to help properly deep clean and extract those blemishes is vital. Remember not to pick nor scratch as that can cause them to become more irritated and more annoyingly spread causing more havoc than needed.
